Dawn Trudeau, co-owner of the Seattle Storm, shares her unique experiences and responsibilities on gameday. On a recent gameday, she balances physical therapy, personal routines, and team engagements, showcasing her dedication to the franchise.
The Morning Routine of a Team Owner
On gamedays, Trudeau rises at 6:30 AM to start her day. Her first task is checking the news, particularly the New York Times headlines, to stay informed. Following this, she engages in physical therapy for her neck and back, often involving her two cats, Stewie and Jewell, who add a playful element to her morning.
Trudeau also enjoys gardening and listening to NPR, which she describes as her calming activity. She often tends to her plants on her deck, referring to one area as her 'jungle' due to the abundance of lilies she has planted.
Pre-Game Preparations and Team Spirit
After her morning routine, Trudeau prepares a cup of coffee in her favorite Storm mug. She then chooses a Storm T-shirt from her collection and occasionally wears a 'lucky' jade necklace, which she believes brings good vibes to the team. She recalls, “Turns out if I wear the necklace, we can lose, too,” highlighting her lighthearted approach to superstition.
