Lindsey Graham's Political Career
Graham was elected to the US Senate in 2002 and successfully re-elected in 2008, 2014, and 2020. Prior to his Senate career, he served in the US House of Representatives for South Carolina’s third congressional district starting in 1994. He was known for his roles as chairman of the Senate Budget Committee and a member of several key committees, including Appropriations, Judiciary, and Environment and Public Works.
Throughout his career, Graham was a vocal supporter of military action and was a strong advocate for the 2003 US invasion of Iraq. He consistently pushed for strategies that he believed would enhance national security and was a fervent supporter of Israel, especially during difficult times.
