Keanu Reeves and Gard Hollinger have officially launched their motorcycle racing team, documented in the new docu-series titled Hooligans: The ARCH Racing Project With Keanu Reeves & Gard Hollinger, premiering on July 12 on Samsung TV Plus. The duo aims to not only compete but also highlight the challenges and triumphs of their journey in the Super Hooligan racing series.
From Custom Bikes to Racing
Reeves and Hollinger first connected in 2009 when Reeves commissioned a custom bike from Hollinger, a former motorcycle racer. This partnership led to the creation of ARCH Motorcycle in 2011, with a mission to redefine American motorcycles. The company emphasizes innovation, aesthetics, and a fully immersive riding experience.
After years in the custom bike business, they decided to enter the racing arena, inspired by their mutual love for the sport. Reeves noted, "It was a bit of a fantasy, but I think, with the motorcycle and the engine that we developed with ARCH Motorcycle, it became, 'Oh, maybe this can be a reality.'" Their participation in the Super Hooligan series, established by Roland Sands, marks a significant milestone in their venture.
Challenges and Triumphs in Racing
The docu-series showcases not only the successes but also the setbacks faced by the team. Early on, they assembled a group of riders, including Corey Alexander and Jeremy McWilliams, who share their experiences in the series. Reeves expressed that the journey was filled with challenges, stating, "We knew we wouldn’t have any quote-unquote success in the beginning, we had a lot of hope."
