Jennifer Garner attended the Los Angeles premiere of 'The Five Star Weekend' on July 8, 2026, showcasing her role as chef Hollis Shaw in this new series based on Elin Hilderbrand's popular novel. The story follows Shaw as she navigates grief and friendship during a weekend in Nantucket with women from various stages of her life.

Garner's First All-Female Cast Experience

This project marks a significant milestone for Garner, who stated, "I have never worked with a group of women before. I always feel like I have a bestie or a daughter, which I love, love, love, but I’d never gotten a chance to immerse myself in a story about friendship." She emphasized the richness and complexity of the characters in Hilderbrand's narrative.

In addition to her acting role, Garner serves as an executive producer, further highlighting her commitment to the project. The series features an ensemble cast including Regina Hall, Chloë Sevigny, Gemma Chan, and D’Arcy Carden, all of whom had never met prior to filming.

Garner also had the opportunity to display her culinary talents, which she often shares on her social media through her "Pretend Cooking Show." She humorously noted, "My food influencing is more, ‘That’s OK that that fell on the ground.’ I mean nobody is pretending like I know what I’m doing, but I do encourage people, don’t be scared to start cooking."

This adaptation follows the success of Netflix's 'The Perfect Couple,' and according to Hilderbrand, it remains true to the heart of her original work. "There are changes just to make it more propulsive, but it is very close to the heart and soul of my book. No one will be upset!" she added.
