Growing up in Brighton, Muscato's journey into musical theater was unexpected. Initially, he preferred acting over singing, admitting, "I already knew from however old I was, 10, that I preferred the acting side." His career took off after winning a singing competition at age 15, which led to an audition for the original London production of Spring Awakening.
