On July 3, 2026, I finally got my hands on the much-anticipated Trump phone, specifically the T1 Phone 8002 in gold. After a year-long wait, I opened the box to find a device that has sparked significant interest and conversation. While it comes with some unique features, there are also noticeable flaws that potential buyers should consider.
Unboxing the Trump Phone: First Impressions
The T1 Phone arrives with a gold, plastic back panel that, while eye-catching, feels quite tacky. My initial impression was marred by a tiny scratch that appeared before I even took it out of the box. The packaging included a free Trump Mobile SIM card, a 33W charger, a clear plastic case, and an A4 quick start guide printed on standard office paper.
Interestingly, unlike most modern smartphones, the T1 still ships with a charger, indicating that Trump Mobile is not overly concerned about e-waste. However, this choice may not resonate with environmentally conscious consumers.
Setup Process and Performance
Setting up the Trump phone went smoothly at first, as it seamlessly restored my usual apps from a Google backup. Preinstalled on the device is the Truth Social app, which aligns with the brand's political affiliations. The phone claims to have the latest February Android security update, and unlike some users, my fingerprint sensor functioned properly.
