YouTuber Jon Prosser has officially responded to Apple's lawsuit filed against him and co-defendant Michael Ramacciotti over allegations of stealing trade secrets related to iOS. In his response, submitted on July 3, 2026, Prosser denied any involvement in a coordinated scheme to harm Apple, while admitting to recording a FaceTime call that showcased unreleased iOS features.
Details of the Allegations Against Prosser
According to Apple's lawsuit, filed last year, Prosser and Ramacciotti were accused of conspiring to access proprietary information from an Apple development iPhone owned by employee Ethan Lipnik. Apple claimed that the two men had a coordinated plan to profit from the theft of trade secrets. However, Prosser refuted these claims, stating that he was unaware of Ramacciotti's financial situation and did not plan to access the information.
In his response, Prosser noted that while he participated in a FaceTime call where Ramacciotti demonstrated certain features of the unreleased iOS 19, he had no knowledge of how Ramacciotti obtained access to Lipnik's phone. Prosser admitted to recording the call and sharing screen captures, but denied any prior agreement or inducement to Ramacciotti.
Prosser's Defense and Claims
Prosser's filing includes a range of defenses, asserting that Ramacciotti should bear full responsibility for the alleged disclosure of Apple's trade secrets. He stated, "Ramacciotti's act of displaying the features was not induced by Prosser," and requested indemnification for any harm caused by Ramacciotti's actions.
