Venezuelan Artists Mobilize Amidst Earthquake Devastation
In the wake of two devastating earthquakes that have left over 50,000 people missing in Venezuela, artists are stepping up to assist their communities. Despite grappling with their own grief, they are actively engaged in rescue efforts, sourcing essential food and medical supplies, raising funds for affected families, and providing emotional support to those in need.
Gloria Blancato, an artist from Catia La Mar, experienced the tremors firsthand. As the ground shook violently on June 24, she was jolted awake by the sound of shattering glass and collapsing walls. In a desperate bid for safety, she jumped from her two-story home, sustaining injuries from her escape. Blancato and her family have been forced to sleep outdoors since the disaster.
