On Saturday, Russia launched fresh attacks on Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, and the southern port city of Odesa, injuring 11 people in Kyiv and killing 2 in Odesa. Ukrainian authorities reported that a combination of ballistic and cruise missiles, along with drones, targeted these cities.
Details of the Attacks on Kyiv and Odesa
In Kyiv, the missile strikes occurred even before the air raid alert was issued, damaging civilian infrastructure including apartment buildings and a theological seminary. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that emergency crews are actively working at the sites of the strikes. In Odesa, one missile attack resulted in one injury and two fatalities.
Casualties and Damage Reported
Additionally, a separate attack in the eastern city of Kharkiv left seven people wounded. The ongoing attacks highlight the severe impact on civilians and infrastructure amidst the ongoing conflict. Zelenskyy emphasized the need for NATO support as Ukraine's supply of munitions dwindles.
