TF1, the French commercial broadcaster, has announced that its new partnership with Netflix is already yielding impressive results. Just three weeks into the deal, which started last month, TF1 has recorded an astonishing 8.3 million unique daily streams for the finale of its popular reality show Koh-Lanta. This partnership allows Netflix in France to showcase both live broadcasts and on-demand content from TF1 and its platform TF1+.
Record Streaming Figures Achieved
The collaboration has led to a significant increase in audience engagement. According to TF1, the first week of the Netflix partnership saw a 16 percent rise in unique daily streams for its shows. Notably, several titles from TF1 have made it onto Netflix's most-watched lists in France.
“We achieved our audience targets [for the Netflix deal], originally set for an 18-month timeframe, in less than three weeks,” said TF1 CEO Rodolphe Belmer. This rapid success underscores the public's demand for TF1's content and the potential of this groundbreaking partnership.
Advertising Success and Future Prospects
TF1 has also reported that ad sales for its shows on Netflix are performing excellently, comparable to those on TF1+. However, the company has not disclosed specific figures. This collaboration marks the first instance of Netflix partnering with a free-to-air national broadcaster, setting a promising precedent.
