Jayden Adams, a midfielder for South Africa's national football team, tragically passed away at the age of 25. His death was confirmed on Saturday after police found his body in Schotsche Kloof, Cape Town. The circumstances surrounding his death are currently under investigation.
Jayden Adams' Football Career
Adams was a prominent player for Mamelodi Sundowns and represented South Africa in the 2026 World Cup. He played in three group matches, including the opener against Mexico, where South Africa lost 2-0. He also participated in a draw with Czechia and contributed to a victory against South Korea.
Before joining Mamelodi Sundowns, Adams developed through the youth system at Stellenbosch FC, becoming their first academy product to sign a professional contract. He made a total of 139 appearances for the club, helping them win the 2023 Carling Knockout.

Following the news of his death, South Africa's Minister of Sport, Gayton McKenzie, expressed profound shock in a statement: “It is with profound shock and a heavy heart that I have learnt of the passing of Jayden Adams. South African football has lost one of its brightest young talents.”
