Slate Auto, the electric truck manufacturer backed by Jeff Bezos, has announced a collaboration with Crayola to offer five vibrant vehicle wraps for its innovative $25,000 electric truck. This partnership marks Crayola's first foray into the automotive sector, aiming to provide unique customization options for potential truck owners.
Bright Color Options for Slate's Electric Truck
The collaboration features five eye-catching colors: Cerulean, Fern, Jersey Tomato, Razzmatazz, and Dandelion. These colors are derived from Crayola's well-known crayon lineup, allowing buyers to personalize their Slate truck with a splash of childhood nostalgia. Each wrap package will also include decals, a color-coordinated key-fob cap, and a unique dashboard accessory called a Slatelet.
The base model of the Slate truck is priced at $24,950, making it the most affordable new truck available in the US market. With a simple gray composite body and minimalistic features, such as manual windows and no touchscreen, the Slate is designed for budget-conscious consumers.
Pricing and Availability of Crayola Wraps
While the standard wrap kits for the Slate begin at $500, the Crayola starter packs are priced significantly higher at $1,550. This price includes the colorful wrap along with the accessories, tripling the cost of a typical wrap. Despite the higher expense, Slate aims to maintain its appeal of “affordable customization” for its electric truck.
