PocketMage Launches Crowdfunding for Innovative E-Paper PDA with Dual Screens

The PocketMage, a new personal digital assistant (PDA), was unveiled on July 9, 2026, by Talisman Design. This innovative device features a compact keyboard and dual displays, reviving the PDA concept for modern users. Available for preorder on Crowd Supply, the PocketMage offers a distraction-free alternative to smartphones.

Features of the PocketMage PDA

The PocketMage combines a 3.1-inch e-paper primary display with a 1.8-inch OLED screen for enhanced functionality. The e-paper screen has a resolution of 320x240 pixels, while the OLED display, with a 256x32 pixel resolution, is used for menus and other high-refresh tasks. The device is powered by an ESP32-S3 microcontroller featuring 2MB of RAM and 16MB of storage, which can be expanded via a microSD card.

Users can choose between two preorder options:

Functionality and Usability

The PocketMage is designed for simple productivity tasks, offering apps such as a calendar, journal, dictionary, and a Markdown text editor. Additional applications include a calculator, ebook reader, and web browser, making it more capable than earlier PDAs from brands like Casio.

Despite its compact size, the PocketMage includes a basic piezo speaker, a 1,200mAh battery that lasts about a week, and connectivity options like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It also features a USB-C port for peripheral compatibility.

Availability and Shipping Information

Preorders for the PocketMage are currently open, but customers should be aware that shipping is not expected until March 2027 at the earliest. This timeline allows Talisman Design to ensure quality and functionality in their product.
