On July 13, 2024, flight attendant Stefanie Bojar filed a federal lawsuit against Matthew Danzeisen, husband of billionaire Peter Thiel, alleging assault during a private jet flight. The incident occurred when Danzeisen reportedly shoved her aside and threw heavy cooler bags, causing serious injuries.
Details of the Incident on the Private Jet
The private jet, used by Thiel's family, had two bathrooms, but both were obstructed on the day of the flight from Sun Valley, Idaho to Washington, DC. One bathroom was filled with luggage, while the other was used for storage. Bojar claims that when Danzeisen needed immediate access for one of his children, he became angry and threw multiple bags at her.
Bojar alleges that Danzeisen's actions resulted in her collapsing against the aircraft wall, leading to injuries in her ankle and knee. In contrast, Danzeisen maintains he was merely trying to clear bags from the bathroom and did not intend to harm Bojar.
Legal Disputes and Counterclaims
In the aftermath of the incident, Danzeisen preemptively sued Bojar, accusing her of extortion and defamation. His lawsuit describes her as having a “checkered aviation career” and claims she violated a confidentiality agreement. Bojar's attorney, Elliott Jung, argues that Danzeisen's lawsuit is a bullying tactic aimed at intimidating her.
