Nandan Nilekani, co-founder of Infosys, is stepping down as a general partner at Fundamentum Partnership as the venture capital firm launches its third fund targeting $200 million. Nilekani will remain the fund's anchor investor and continue to advise the firm while mentoring portfolio companies, according to co-founder Sanjeev Aggarwal.
Nilekani's Ongoing Role at Fundamentum
Nilekani's transition is described by Aggarwal as "just a title thing," emphasizing that Nilekani will still play a crucial role in mentoring and providing strategic guidance to the firm's portfolio. He remains an integral part of Fundamentum, focusing on nurturing the teams they support.
At 71, Nilekani is one of India's prominent technology leaders, known for his contributions beyond Infosys, including leading the creation of Aadhaar and advocating for India's digital public infrastructure like the Unified Payments Interface (UPI).
