Marcus Rashford is expected to rejoin Manchester United for the upcoming season following a three-week break after England's World Cup campaign. The 28-year-old forward last played for United in December 2024 during a Europa League match and is now looking forward to pre-season training with the team.
Rashford's Integration into the Squad
Rashford's reintegration comes under new head coach Michael Carrick, who took over in May after a caretaker stint. Despite a turbulent relationship with the club, there are no issues reported between Rashford and Carrick. The forward's contract with United has two years remaining, and the club hopes to manage his substantial salary of approximately £17.5 million per year.
United's strategy includes the possibility of offloading Rashford, but they have struggled to find interested parties. The player has previously been loaned to Aston Villa and Barcelona, where he notably contributed to securing the La Liga title.
Upcoming Pre-Season Matches
Manchester United's pre-season is set to commence on July 18 with a friendly against Wrexham in Helsinki. This match is crucial as it takes place just before the World Cup final. The team has a total of six friendlies scheduled, including matches against Rosenborg, Atlético Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Leeds, and Milan.
