The LA Galaxy announced on Tuesday that they have transferred attacker Gabriel Pec to Brazilian club Cruzeiro for a club-record fee. While the Galaxy did not disclose the exact amount, a report by The Athletic indicates that the transfer fee is $12 million with an additional $1.5 million in potential add-ons.
Galaxy General Manager Will Kuntz stated, "Gabriel's impact on the Galaxy was felt from his first day in Los Angeles. In less than three years, he has been MLS Newcomer of the Year, an MLS All-Star, and an MLS Cup champion, but he will be remembered most by those closest to him for being a great teammate and friend." Kuntz expressed excitement for Pec's future and wished him success upon returning to Brazil.
