On July 10, 2026, Giona A. Nazzaro, the artistic director of the Locarno Film Festival, announced a diverse lineup featuring over 200 titles, nearly half of which are world premieres. The festival aims to embody a new mantra of ‘Curated Diversity,’ showcasing both established filmmakers and promising newcomers.

This year’s festival will attract major names such as Isabella Rossellini, Darren Aronofsky, Olivia Wilde, and Caleb Landry Jones. Nazzaro's selection includes notable works from acclaimed directors across the globe, emphasizing a rich tapestry of cinematic voices.
