Gary Glitter, the former singer known as Paul Gadd, has been charged with historical sexual offences dating back to 1978, according to the Metropolitan Police. The charges include one count of unlawful sexual intercourse with a girl under the age of 13 and three counts of indecent assault on a girl under 14. The alleged offences occurred at a residential address in Kensington between 1978 and 1981.

The charges against Gadd were officially announced on 2 July 2026. The alleged victim reported the offences to the police on 9 January 2025, prompting an investigation. Gadd was interviewed by authorities for the first time on 22 July 2025 in connection with the case.
Currently, Gadd is being held in HMP Channings Wood in Devon. He is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on 5 August 2026.
