Fitness influencers associated with Gencore Global are reportedly involved in operating an illegal steroid market via Telegram, as revealed by the Guardian. This underground network, which has over 180,000 followers on platforms like TikTok and Instagram, promotes anabolic steroids and performance-enhancing drugs.
Gencore's Brand and Activities
Gencore Global presents itself as a health and wellness company based in the UK. Recently, it participated in the FitXpo North West in Greater Manchester and has sponsored various sporting events, including influencer boxing promotions. Their website offers a range of products, including skincare and supplements, branding itself as a “revolutionary movement”.
However, this image contrasts sharply with the activities of its ambassadors. The Guardian reports that numerous Gencore ambassadors are directing their followers to underground Telegram channels that promote anabolic steroids, prescription medications, and unregulated experimental peptides.
The Underground Market for Steroids
The Telegram network, initially known as Rohm but now rebranded as Anabolic By Nature, has been linked to multiple Gencore affiliates. These ambassadors are actively recruiting new members and promoting illegal sales. Experts express concern that the distinction between fitness culture and illegal drug promotion is fading.
On these channels, users discuss the benefits and dosages of various steroids and peptides. For example, one user noted their experience with BPC-157 and TB-500, claiming significant improvements in recovery.
