Disney announced on Wednesday that it has greenlit a new film, The Cheetah Girls: Next Gen, for Disney Channel and Disney+. This new installment will feature original stars Raven-Symoné and Adrienne Bailon, along with a fresh cast, as they embark on a new adventure.
Original Cast Members Return
The upcoming film will see Raven-Symoné reprise her role as Galleria and Adrienne Bailon return as Chanel. Additionally, original cast member Sabrina Bryan will make a special appearance as Dorinda. Other returning stars include Lynn Whitfield and Lori Alter, reprising their roles as Dorothea and Juanita, respectively.
The film introduces a new generation of talent, including Leah Sava’ Jeffries as Galleria's daughter Faith, Carmen Sanchez as Chanel's sister Dior, Kaileen Chang as Ruby, and Sophie Lennon as Brooklyn. Notably, Kamogelo Ramashala, a South African actor discovered through a global casting call, will portray Kendi. In a supporting role, Sophia Bush will play Jennifré.
Plot and Production Details
The official logline for The Cheetah Girls: Next Gen reveals that the story follows Galleria and Chanel, alongside Galleria's daughter Faith and her friends, as they travel to Africa to volunteer at a wildlife sanctuary. Throughout their journey, they will test their friendship, find their voice, and embrace the true Cheetah spirit while saving the preserve and performing as the new Cheetah Girls.
