Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has been named the new head coach of Saudi Arabian football club Al-Nassr on July 3, 2026. The club, which recently celebrated its first Saudi Pro League title in May 2026, aims to build on its success under the leadership of the 60-year-old Australian.
Postecoglou's Coaching Journey
Before his appointment at Al-Nassr, Postecoglou had a brief and tumultuous tenure at Nottingham Forest, where he was sacked after just 39 days in October 2025. His previous experience includes a successful stint at Celtic, where he won back-to-back Scottish Premiership titles and led Tottenham to victory in the Europa League in 2025.
Postecoglou's coaching philosophy emphasizes attacking football and player development, qualities that Al-Nassr hopes will enhance their competitive edge in the league and on the continental stage.
Al-Nassr's Ambitions
Al-Nassr, based in Riyadh, is a club with a rich history and aspirations to dominate both domestic and international football. Under the captaincy of Cristiano Ronaldo, who has been pivotal in their recent successes, the team aims to not only retain their league title but also make a significant impact in Asian competitions.
