Alisa Bowen has been appointed as the new CEO of Fubo, taking over from co-founder David Gandler. This announcement was made on Thursday, following Fubo's merger with Hulu + Live TV, a service owned by Disney. Bowen, who previously served as president of Disney+, expressed her enthusiasm for leading Fubo in its growth trajectory.
Bowen's Vision for Fubo
In her statement, Bowen remarked, “I am excited to lead Fubo in its next phase as we sharpen its strategy across sports, news, and entertainment.” She emphasized the importance of accelerating growth and driving profitability while enhancing value for Fubo and Hulu + Live subscribers, advertisers, and content partners. Bowen outlined her commitment to working with the leadership team to position Fubo as an industry leader.
Bowen's extensive experience spans over 10 years at Walt Disney, where she played a significant role in developing Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+. Her background also includes key positions at News Corp, Dow Jones, and Thomson Reuters.
David Gandler's Departure
David Gandler has been with Fubo for 11 years and has announced his resignation from the board, opting not to stand for re-election at the Disney-affiliated company. In his farewell statement, Gandler praised the platform's evolution into a leading streaming service, stating, “We have built a dynamic streaming platform centered around innovative multichannel video programming distribution.”
